Trainee Research Scientist

HistologiX is looking for a Trainee Research Scientist to join our team in Biocity Nottingham. The ideal candidate will have problem-solving skills and experience in a laboratory setting, as well as technical knowledge of immunohistochemistry and histology. Due to continued and rapid growth we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Research Scientist. The Trainee Research Scientist role will be involved in the day-to-day operations within the HistologiX laboratories. The required individual must have proven problem-solving skills with suitable experience in a laboratory setting. Ideally the candidate will have technical immunohistochemistry and histology experience and be able to follow scientific standard procedures and good laboratory practice (GLP). The role will be based in the HistologiX laboratories in Biocity Nottingham during regular business hours.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist with immunohistochemistry projects 
  • Assist with histology projects
  • Support in the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) 
  • Inventory, stock, audit and organise supplies and chemicals
Skills and Attributes
  • Ideally previous experience within a Laboratory role, preferably within a GLP environment
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to work across a fast-paced organisational team
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail 
  • Effective team player
Qualifications and Experience
  • A degree in the last five years in a relevant scientific discipline 
  • Proficient IT skills
  • Demonstrates an ability to work to defined timelines
